Whether you are 8 or 80 years old, if you have time to volunteer, you can change a child’s life…and your own!

In Israel

Visiting Israel?  Aleh offers many rewarding volunteering opportunities.

Aleh's kids love having visitors.  You can accompany our children on local trips and outings, or join them in celebrating a holiday.  Music, singing, dancing, shows and crafting are just some of the ways you can bring joy to our kids during a visit to one of the Aleh facilities.

For specific volunteer opportunities for families and groups visiting Israel, click here.  You can also read about the experiences of other volunteers here.

To see how you can make a difference in the life of a child, contact us at dov@aleh-israel.org.  We’ll help you customize the perfect activity for your family or group!

Please Note: Aleh receives numerous requests from groups who want to visit and run joint programs. Please contact us well in advance to ensure a date and time that is convenient for you.

Overseas

Even from afar, one of the greatest gifts you can give Aleh's children is your time. Whether you can commit to once a year or a few hours every week, when you become an Aleh volunteer, you can take pride in knowing that you are providing help and hope for children with severe disabilities.

Some of Aleh’s volunteers have organized the following programs and events in their communities:

Make One Light an Aleh Night: Have your family, synagogue, or community center dedicate one night of Chanukah to Aleh's children. This very successful event has been replicated in cities across the world to raise funds for much-needed equipment, therapy sessions and general contribution to Aleh branches. And it's guaranteed to brighten our children's lives during the Festival of Lights.

Purim Clowning: Encourage your family and friends to purchase Aleh’s fantastic Purim Cards, featuring a clown cut-out that was designed by the children of Aleh in their specialized workshops.  Or get together a group of friends and put on a clown show to raise funds for Aleh on Purim day.  Aleh will be glad to provide costumes and transportation.  Contact us at dov@aleh-israel.org

Corporate and Community Partnerships:  Get your local community involved!  Partnerships with Aleh are a wonderful way to help children with severe disabilities and create a meaningful connection with Israel. Corporate sponsors have donated computers and other equipment and sponsored trips for our children. There are a host of partnership opportunities and Aleh will work with your business or community to devise a partnership plan that works for you.

Become an "Aleh Gifts" Representative: Young adults living in our Gedera and Negev facilities create many beautiful gift items that are available for sale.  As a volunteer sales representative, you can help sell these items at community crafts fares, synagogue gift shops, and other venues. In addition to raising money for Aleh, each item sold helps bolster the self-confidence and self-esteem of our young people. Visit our Online Boutique to view these gifts.

Young Leadership Department:  If you are a young person who wishes to make a meaningful contribution to Israel, Aleh's Young Leadership Department is the perfect place to start.  Aleh will work with you to create fundraising events that will be fun for the participants and give you the satisfaction of knowing that you are helping hundreds of children with severe disabilities lead happier and healthier lives.  Click here for some great ideas: Swim-a-thon; Adopt a Child; Bar/Bat Mitzvah Twinning and more

You Tell Us: We want to hear your ideas! Please contact us and let us know how you would like to get involved! You can reach us at dov@aleh-israel.org.

"Aleh's kids have taught me so many things: to appreciate all I have, the meaning of true acceptance, and how to offer unconditional love. I feel that have become a truly integral part of the Aleh family."
