Twinning

Aleh’s disabled children are like you in so many ways. They may face bigger challenges every day of their livesfor all their basic needs, like walking, talking, and even eating. But, just like you, the kids at ALEH enjoy laughter, friendship, love, and the feeling that someone cares about them. 

Like you, David and Aviva are really excited about their upcoming birthday. And they deserve a special Bar and Bat Mitzvah celebration just like other kids their age.

With your help, we can make it a day to remember – for everyone.

Each year we have special celebrations for children who otherwise would not have a Bar or Bat Mitzvah. This takes a huge amount of effort, cost and special care.

Twinning means that in honor of your special day, you pair with an Aleh child who is also becoming Bar or Bat Mitzvah and help them enjoy their big day as well.  You can do it by visiting Israel, meeting your ‘twin’ and celebrating together, or by helping sponsor their celebration – even from overseas. 

Some kids meet with their Aleh ‘twin’ at the Kotel on the day of their Bar/Bat Mitzvah.  Others ask family and friends to donate to their ‘twin’ in lieu of a regular Bar/Bat Mitzvah gift.  Any way you choose, this ultimate act of chessed will have a real, lasting impact on your own Bar/Bat Mitzvah celebration.

Your Bar/Bat Mitzvah ‘twin’ will also receive a gift from you that will help them further develop (such as a new piece of equipment or a new program or therapy).  And you will receive a special plaque and a photo album of the Aleh Bar/Bat Mitzvah.

And it doesn’t have to end there!  You are invited to keep in touch, share your future exciting celebrations and follow your twin’s personal milestones.
