Doron Almog to be Honored as Man of Excellence by Lions Israel Volunteer Organization
Major General (Res) Doron Almog, Chairman of the Aleh Negev-Nahalat Eran Rehabilitative Village, was chosen to receive the Man of Excellence Award for the year 2012 by the Lions Israel Organization.
The major event, to be held on June 2, 2012, at the Givatayim Theater, recognizes 3 people of excellence on a national level who have contributed a great deal to the State of Israel through their influence and impact.
In addition to General Almog, the other two awardees this year are Governor of Bank of Israel Mr. Stanley Fisher for his contribution in the economic field, and Singer Shlomo Artzi for his cultural influence.
The award recognizes Almog’s outstanding efforts in the area of socio-communal activity, in particular for his work in the establishment and development of the unique rehabilitative village for severely disabled adults in Israel.
In addition, General Almog speaks to numerous students and groups of IDF soldiers throughout Israel about the importance of caring for the most vulnerable members of society and giving them the quality of life they cannot demand for themselves.
General Almog’s life mission, whereby a strong society is measured by its efforts on behalf of its weaker members, indeed deserves recognition by Israel’s largest volunteer organization. Lions Israel has hundreds of members throughout Israel who are dedicated to reaching out to the vulnerable and needy, and they view their volunteerism on behalf of the community as a way of life.
We are honored to see General Almog’s efforts recognized in this meaningful way!
