Celebrating 80 Years of Giving - By Giving Some More!

Print this ArticleNov 1, 09

Have you ever dreamed of how you will celebrate your 80th birthday?

Truly an occasion to celebrate, Tami Abrotzky chose to use the opportunity to remember the severely disabled residents of Aleh Negev-Nahalat Eran.  She told her dear friends and admirers that a donation to benefit these very special children would be the nicest gift they could give her.

And indeed they did, providing Tami’s dear late grandson Eran z”l, after whom the village is named, a continuing legacy of commitment and kindness to the most vulnerable children in Israel today.

Tami’s son and father of Eran, Major General (Res) Doron Almog, saluted his mother with the following tribute:

“On your 80th birthday, I am proud to be your son; proud of the education, the dedication, the stubbornness, the strengths and the love that you gave us..”

The famous author Esther Kal, one of Tami’s close friends, presented her with a beautiful poem of friendship and admiration, in which she wrote:

“…Tami – a solid foundation,

The beating heart, the great mother

For whom family is most important,

Yet she doesn’t forget others.

Tami –

Who one day shows up with Mati and Rotam the driver,

To take me to a restaurant in honor of my birthday - that no one else remembered….”

Tami – on behalf of the children of Aleh Negev-Nahalat Eran, we wish you many more years filled with health, happiness, and the opportunity to give!
