Music From the Heart

Print this ArticleJul 1, 09

In a modest yet moving ceremony this week, a very special Music Room was dedicated in Aleh Negev-Nahalat Eran’s Special Education School.

The Music Room was dedicated by Annette and Rob Rubin of Chicago, long-time friends and supporters of Aleh.

Annette and Rob chose to make the dedication in memory of Annette’s grandmother, Mrs. Adela Goldfinger O.B.M., who had been a musician herself with an outstanding love and appreciation for music.

Adela immigrated to Palestine alone in the year 1939, at a time when every day was fraught with danger and poverty was rampant. Her love for Israel, however, overcame all the hardship and loneliness.

The Music Room dedication is a testament to Adela’s greatest passions – the Land of Israel, its people, and the beauty and power of music.

“We could not think of a better way to honor Grandmother Adela’s memory than to dedicate a Music Room in this place filled with love for humanity,” explained Annette and Rob. “We look forward to continuing our partnership and support of Aleh Negev-Nahalat Eran for many more years to come.”
