Dear Friends,
I extend my best wishes to all the dedicated friends of the Aleh Organization – the Center for the Rehabilitation and Advancement of Disabled Children in Israel.
Aleh’s facilities in Jerusalem, Bnei Brak, Gedera and the Negev help hundreds of children with serious cognitive disabilities, children with lofty souls in disabled bodies. I am personally acquainted with the wonderful administration and staff of Aleh and have witnessed for myself their boundless dedication. Even more so, I have seen the looks in the eyes of the parents and the children themselves, expressing their heartfelt thanks and joy in a manner far beyond words.
Aleh’s newest goal is to build a hospital wing for the most seriously disabled children in Israel today. These are children who would otherwise live their lives in cold, impersonal medical hospitals. That situation is unacceptable – both for the suffering children and for their heartbroken parents and families.
Aleh’s High-Dependency Wing will provide the children and their parents the care, support and love every human being deserves. The rehabilitative, social and educational opportunities and their accompanying warmth will give these children an unsurpassed quality of life. At the same time, this wing will epitomize the age-old Jewish concept of “chesed shel emet” – true loving-kindness on behalf of the neediest children amongst us today.
May Hashem send blessing, healing and joy to His nation, and may all those who lend their support to this extraordinary venture be blessed with health, happiness and success in their worthy endeavors.
Yours sincerely,
Rabbi Shmuel Rabinowitz
Rabbi of the Western Wall and the Holy Sites of Israel

I turn with affection to my dear brothers, to request that you extend your generous and caring support to the Aleh organization which is dedicated to caring for children with physical and cognitive disabilities and limitations. I am familiar with the organization’s directors and staff members personally and can attest that they are doing outstanding work in bringing joy and succor to these precious children. Now they have expanded and are poised to open the rehabilitative village ALEH NEGEV, which is especially designed for mentally disabled young adults.
It is a great mitzvah and privilege to help them generously and openhandedly and to receive them kindly, so that they are able to complete this special village.
“He who saves one Jewish soul, it is as if he saved an entire world.”
Signed by one who awaits the salvation of the Merciful G-d,
Shlomo Moshe Amar
Rishon Letzion
Chief Rabbi of Israel

Dear Friends,
It is a great pleasure to welcome everyone to the Annual Gala Diner of the Aleh Foundation.
On behalf of the City of New York, I recognize all those associated with this exemplary organization for hosting this event and for your commitment to supporting the Aleh Institutions in Israel. These facilities are leading the way in caring for Israel’s severely disabled youth, providing them with the resources they need to lead full and happy lives. Your generosity here tonight will allow Aleh to continue providing high-quality health care in Israel and will assist them in furthering their mission.
One of the most vital elements of Jewish heritage in New York is our deep personal connection to Israel. During my trips there, I have seen the determination of Israelis to live life to the fullest. I thank each of you for your commitment to improving the quality of life in the nation and to making a difference in the lives of others.
Please accept my best wishes for an enjoyable evening and continued success.
Sincerely,
Michael R. Bloomberg

Dear Friends,
A proper society is judged by its treatment of the weak and different and its sensitivity to those with special-needs, the handicapped and limited, who are human beings just as ourselves.
In Israel there are various frameworks and organizations that are a pride to those who created them and for Israeli society in general.
The Aleh network of institutions, which views all of its activities as a sacred mission and commitment on behalf of special-needs children and the mentally disabled, is one those organizations that deserves the highest praise for its initiatives, activities and endeavors that have broken records in the advancement and rehabilitation of individuals.
Recently Aleh has added a new initiative to their outstanding activities – the establishment of a rehabilitative village for the mentally disabled population in Israel. “Southern Aleh” is a pioneering national project that has received the encouragement and support of the State of Israel.
The realization of this project is a historic challenge that will bear witness to the measure of our sensitivity and humanity in being attentive to the weakest members of Israeli society. At the same time, it will greatly contribute to offering a solution to the terrible unemployment problem of hundreds of families living in the South of Israel.
We extend our best wishes to the Aleh organization and all its supporters, and wish you the greatest success in your remarkable activities on behalf of this special population.
Yours sincerely,
Ehud Barak Binyamin Netanyahu Shimon Peres

Dear Friends,
All societies count among their population a segment with special needs, among them the handicapped and mentally disabled, the weak and the different. Societies are distinguished by their ability and desire to embrace the members of this special group of citizens or reject them, address their needs with sensitivity, understanding, tolerance and a humane approach, or pretend they are not there, treat them as equals, with equal rights, or relegate them to the fringes of society.
In Israel, the Aleh organization and its network of institutions, plays a signi?cant role in placing Israel well and clearly in the former camp, and in keeping with an enlightened society, its notable activities are encouraged and supported by the State of Israel. With the well-being of the special-needs children, the handicapped and the mentally disabled in mind, Aleh's mission is to create outreach projects for the bene?t of this section of the population, doing much for its rehabilitation. "Southern Aleh" — a rehabilitative village in the Negev — is one such undertaking, a measure of the commitment of Aleh's staff and volunteers to their worthy cause.
The work Aleh is doing is exceptional and merits support and encouragement. I want to congratulate them on their tenacity of purpose and wish them every success in their future endeavors.
Sincerely yours,
Shimon Peres
