The 71 children, ages 0-21, who call Aleh Jerusalem home have severe physical and mental disabilities and require intensive support to perform daily activities such as eating, bathing, sitting and basic hygiene.
They are cared for by 150 devoted professionals and caregivers who provide for their physical and medical needs and offer them a wide range of individualized therapeutic and educational programs so that they will develop to their full potential.
In the morning, the children attend a special education school located within the facility. Their afternoons are filled with extra-curricular activities that provide additional learning opportunities in a fun environment. A special treat is when volunteers from the area take the children on trips or prepare a special activity.
Aleh Jerusalem is especially proud of its three specialized wings, each of which serves a different age group or need: an early intervention wing for infants; an apartment-style living wing for young adults; and a hospital wing for highly dependent children who require complex medical care, which is currently in development.
In addition, the facility has an on-site medical clinic for the children in residence, as well as a clinic for the community that provides paramedical treatments to area children with developmental delays.
Thanks to cutting-edge therapeutic treatments and medical technology, and the dedication of the Aleh Jerusalem staff, our children are breaking through the barriers of their disabilities and developing far beyond their initial prognoses.
