For Israeli residents, Aleh offers many rewarding volunteer opportunities. Volunteers accompany our children on local trips and outings throughout the country. They plan holiday parties and other special activities. They also involve their schools and synagogues in fundraising activities on behalf of Aleh. In short, they play a crucial role in helping our children get the best possible care so that they can develop their potential to the fullest.

Help care for the trees and gardens at Aleh Negev! The fruits of your efforts will be tended to by disabled young adults as part of a unique agricultural vocational training program.
Aleh Negev is built on expansive grounds with plenty of green, open space. We’re taking advantage of this to provide exciting therapeutic opportunities to hundreds of special-needs children.
Tall grapefruit trees have already been planted alongside beds of oregano, lavendar and lemon leaf, providing exotic smells and beautiful sights. Come spend a day tilling the soil, helping the plants grow and blossom. In-season you’ll be able to work with Aleh Negev residents, helping them pick the fruit and cut the spices.
As you actively participate in harvesting the fruit of the land, you’ll also be giving special-needs people the opportunity to be productive and fulfilled.

Other Countries
One of the greatest gifts you can give is your time. When you become a volunteer for Aleh, you can take pride in knowing that you are providing help and hope to children with severe disabilities. Whether your involvement is once a year or a few hours every week, you will be making a difference in the lives of Aleh's 500 children living in our residential facilities and the thousands of Israelis who come to our outpatient clinics for paramedical treatments.
Some of Aleh's volunteers have organized the following programs and events in their communities:
Make One Light an Aleh Night: Have your family, synagogue, or community center dedicate one night of Chanukah to Aleh's children. This very successful fundraising event has been used to donate a piece of much-needed equipment, sponsor a child's therapy sessions or make a general contribution to one of Aleh's branches. And it's guaranteed to brighten up our children's lives during the Festival of Lights.
Corporate and Community Partnerships: Partnerships with Aleh are a wonderful way to help children with severe disabilities and create a meaningful connection with Israel. Some of our corporate sponsors have donated computers and other equipment or sponsored trips for our children. In several communities, jointly sponsored Jewish-Christian fundraising initiatives are playing a significant role in the creation of the Aleh Negev Rehabilitation Village. There are many partnership opportunities, and Aleh will work with your business or community to devise a partnership plan that works best for you.
Become an "Aleh Gifts" Rep: Young adults living in our Gedera and Negev facilities have created many beautiful gift items that are for sale. Our volunteer sales representatives - who help distribute these items at community crafts fares, synagogue gift shops, and other venues - not only help raise money for Aleh, but they also raise the self-confidence and self-esteem of our young people. If you are a young person who wishes to make a meaningful contribution to Israel, Aleh's Young Leadership Dept. is the place for you. Aleh will work with you to create fundraising events that will be fun for the participants - and give you the satisfaction of knowing that you are helping 500 children with severe disabilities lead happier and healthier lives.
Here are just a few ideas of things you can do:
Bowl-A-Thon / Swim-A-Thon / Dance-A-Thon: Organize a bowling/swimming or dancing party for your school or community, where the proceeds go to Aleh.
Make One Light an Aleh Night: Have your family, synagogue, or community center dedicate one night of Chanukah to Aleh's children. By donating a specially-equipped toy or a piece of much-needed equipment, you can brighten a child's life during the Festival of Lights.
Your family or class can "adopt" one of our kids and sponsor one of their therapeutic programs for a year.
